Meet the Landlord - Bob Crossley
Licensee Bob Crossley turns sixty this year, 2007 and has packed a lot of living into those years. Twelve years service in the RAF was followed by his first foray into the Entertainment World, Managing the UK’s top three country music acts as well as rock band Wychfynde who made number 10 in the charts. A deal with CBS Records for Hull singer Tammy Cline saw him establish many contacts in the US. Bob has an avalanche of stories to tell about those heady days and is best perhaps avoided when in full flow!
Originally from Howden, pubs have always been close to Bob’s heart. His first one being in the Yorkshire mining town of Grimethorpe, just after the miner’s strike. This was followed by one of the UK’s largest pubs, The Thieves Kitchen in the Sussex Town of Worthing before enjoying his longest stay of 10 years at the World famous John Bull in Chiswick, West London, one of the top three music pubs in the UK.
Football and Music feature heavily in any conversation with Bob, but he is known to be able to talk knowledgeably about any subject under the sun, whether correct or not. You’ll enjoy his company, if not his opinions. Girls beware; he has the dodgiest chat up lines in the business!
